Odor emissions from agriculture are a very current issue and are always a starting point for conflict. In this context, manure in particular has to contend with a very negative image in society.
A long-term reduction in the pH value below 7 would not only significantly reduce odor emissions, but would also keep the valuable nitrogen in the manure and in the operating system. This means that the nutrient situation could be improved in the long term, especially in organic grassland operations.
