On the day of departmental research, the focus was on the activities of the research-active departments of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management. The HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein was able to present FarmLife as one of its lead projects to the assembled plenary of national agricultural actors and researchers. FarmLife enables a comprehensive evaluation of agricultural operations and provides valuable data for departmental research for the future of location-appropriate agriculture.
The FarmLife farm badge is given to farms throughout Austria that take part in farm management evaluations with FarmLife. The researchers in Raumberg-Gumpenstein work together with farmers, processing companies and schools to show the agricultural cycles - from crop production to animal husbandry to the products. The special thing about FarmLife is that the central fields of action are combined with each other: from ecology, nutrient management and climate protection to biodiversity, animal welfare and business management. So far, around 1,000 companies have been calculated at the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein. The results help local agriculture and are invaluable for science and departmental research.
