In 1999 he came to the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, where he set nationally and internationally recognized standards in research and advice on animal health.
In 2014, Dr. Gasteiner, in addition to his work as head of the institute for "Animals, Technology and Environment" (2005), was also appointed head of research and innovation at the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein. During this time, many important priorities were set at the HBLFA in the areas of research and implementation. The new focus areas at the HBLFA today include, for example, comprehensive life cycle assessment, research on the consequences of climate change and possible adaptation strategies, digitalization in agriculture, new animal welfare assessment tools, legal questions in stable building permits as well as alpine and organic research. In addition, the further intersection between the research and school areas at the HBLFA was promoted, so that the synergies between education, advice and research can now be optimally used at the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein.
We wish our colleague Direktor Dr. All the best, good health and strength Johann Gasteiner for his duties as Direktor , as well as many valuable ideas that contribute to the well-being of our youth and to the best possible support of our local agriculture.
The employees are looking forward to a good collaboration!
