    Crash course for shepherds on sheep and goat pastures at Hof Medau

    crash course for shepherds on sheep and goat pastures took place on April 19th and 20th . At the Medau farm, the main focus on these two days was the animal: normal behavior , correct handling of the animal, animal-related indicators in theory and practice .

    A focus was also on that

    • Detecting, preventing and treating typical sheep and goat diseases . In the afternoon the participants were able to attend
    • Sheep shearing will be there and
    • the first practical exercises in hoof care .

    The course met with great interest among the 15 participants. The participants' different previous experiences stimulated an active exchange among themselves.
    A second part will follow at the beginning of May. The course is organized by the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein in cooperation with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, the Student Representative Office for Agricultural Sciences, and the VetMed University of Vienna.
