The aim of the project is the practical implementation of the gene conservation program developed by ÖNGENE together with the responsible breeding organizations. Due to their long breeding history, the rare breeds worthy of preservation have acquired a high genetic potential, which represents the support and basis for conventional animal breeding. The consistent implementation of the gene preservation program enables the preservation of the gene variants of these ancient breeds.
