Children and young people explore and experience natural processes in the district and learn about the development and use of technologies

The “Liezen Research and Experience Workshop” project is a generation innovation region and is developing a regional network for education, research and technology. All educational levels from kindergarten to university take part in the project. Children experiment and learn in a playful way. The aim is to make it easier for young people to choose a career and make the transition into the world of work.

The active involvement of parents in the project supports interest and knowledge about the connections between nature and the environment as well as interesting, future-oriented careers. A special goal is also to inspire young women to pursue technical and scientific careers.

Imparting knowledge through the four elements “water, soil, heat, air”

The connections of the immediate living space are explored through the four elements of water, soil, heat and air. The mental, sensory and physical perception through experiments strengthens the relationship to the respective elements and the technical implementation options for everyday use.

The project partners provide interesting research activities and practical instructions in close proximity. The interest of young residents in the region in research, innovation, the environment and technology is also strengthened outside of kindergarten and school.
The project serves as an impetus for further network activities in the region.

    Goals of the project:

    • Creative knowledge transfer through experiments and joint projects
    • Motivation for a sustainable lifestyle in rural areas
    • Promoting target group-specific learning as an important milestone for personal development
    • Strengthening the ability of children and young people to perceive things and undertake activities
    • Open learning methods for an atmosphere free of regulations
    • Promote communication and collaboration
    • Media processing of the project and integration of the content into the everyday life of the partner institutions
    • Pooling resources for the development of a long-term regional education network
