Animal husbandry systems, technology and emissions

The use of phytogenic feed additives as a possible alternative to reducing odor/emissions from livestock buildings is very topical, especially with regard to approval procedures, problems with neighbors, stable construction, stable climate, emissions, etc. This scientific activity is intended to provide information about the ammonia reduction potential and possible effects on the health and daily weight gain of fattening pigs. The aim of the planned study is to carry out an objective assessment of the effect and performance of the product being examined.

The feed additive used is made up of calcium carbonate and sea salt (carrier). The manufacturer's expectations are that even more positive effects can be achieved with the product.

There are currently many feed additives on the market with similar effects. Many claims are made by companies, but farmers find it difficult to navigate this jungle. By examining various feed additives, an independent decision-making aid is to be created for practice.
