    The importance of silage maize as an important feed that farmers can produce themselves is undisputed. In addition, silage maize is readily eaten by both dairy and fattening cattle.

    The cultivation of silage maize in Austria is also widespread; silage maize can be found from the foothills of the Alps, through the foothills of the Alps, to the valleys and basins in the Alpine region.
    The material composition of silage maize, on the one hand the raw fiber-rich residual plant, on the other hand the energy-rich cob, gives this crop a very special value in feeding. In addition, due to its easily digestible carbohydrates and low protein content, silage maize has the best silage properties, which usually lead to good maize silages.
    By feeding silage maize, the farmer has access to an energy-rich basic feed that guarantees high feed intake due to its high digestibility.
    The quality of the corn silage is influenced by the variety, location, weather conditions and the state of development at harvest. Not only breeding, but also the soil and climatic conditions influence the quality of the corn silage.
