    Organic farming

The overarching project goal is the creation and further development of location-related know-how on the basis of suitable transfer experiments, combined with a rapid, efficient and, if possible, loss-free transfer of the information gained to advisors and farmers.

To implement this central project goal, the following requirements are necessary:

    * Establishment and support of a network of experimental and demonstration farms in all agricultural regions of Austria.

    * Location-specific adaptation of domestic and foreign scientific exact tests to practical conditions of organic farming with the help of regional transfer tests.

    * Site-specific review and demonstration of innovative cultures as well as cultivation strategies and promising new varieties with regard to their regional cultivation suitability using the results of the official variety value test.

    * Critical, technical support for interested farmers on the question of the use of current plant and soil additives.

    * Rapid knowledge transfer of the project results and findings gained through:

    - Carrying out field days and excursions

    - Development of documents for farmers, consultants

    - Carrying out educational events for farmers

    - Sharing knowledge with interested bio-actors
