Goals of the project:
- Measuring feed quality at different growing heights
The desired growth height is the decisive criterion for paddock pasture. This determines the size and number of paddocks on a farm. Depending on the age of the plant population, the quality of the feed also changes. Therefore, it should be checked which shoot growth height would be ideal.
- Determining the growth performance at different pasture lift heights
It should also be determined what the offspring performance of the permanent pasture is at different heights of use. This then results in the annual yield as well as the quality yields on the area. These factors are important to evaluate how much milk can be achieved per hectare.
- Determination of quality fluctuations during the growing season at the three growing heights
How the composition of the pasture feed changes throughout the year with different plant populations will also be investigated.
