According to § 12 of the Federal Law on Agricultural and Forestry Schools, the prerequisite for admission to a higher agricultural and forestry school is..
- successful completion of the middle school class and an assessment in all performance-differentiated compulsory subjects (German, English, Mathematics) according to
- Performance level “Standard AHS”
or
- Performance level “Standard” is no worse than “Good”.
- successful completion of the polytechnic school at the 9th grade level.
- successful completion of the first year of a vocational secondary school
- successful completion of the 4th or a higher grade of the general secondary school (AHS).
Entrance exam
Applicants for admission to the
- Middle school from those performance-differentiated compulsory subjects in which the aforementioned requirements are not met, as well as
- Primary school in German, mathematics and a living foreign language, if the 8th grade has been successfully completed.
According to § 28 para. 3 of the School Education Act, successful completion of the 8th grade or successful completion of the first eight years of compulsory schooling is a prerequisite for admission to the 1st grade of a higher school, if
- The annual report card of the 4th grade of secondary school or the 4th or 5th grade of academic secondary school must show an assessment in all compulsory subjects (except in the compulsory subjects Latin/Second Living Foreign Language and Geometric Drawing, as well as in additional school-specific compulsory subjects and in special compulsory subjects at schools with special consideration for musical or sporting education) and must not contain the grade "Fail" in any of these compulsory subjects
or
- the student has successfully completed 1
Furthermore, successful completion of the 8th grade or fulfillment of the first eight years of compulsory schooling is given if the student has successfully completed the polytechnic school after successfully completing the 7th grade of elementary school, the 3rd grade of middle school or the 3rd grade of academic secondary school.
Admission to a three-year advanced training course
According to § 18 of the Federal Law on Agricultural and Forestry Schools, the prerequisite for admission to a three-year advanced training course is after fulfillment of compulsory general education
- at least three years of practical experience in agriculture and forestry, including attendance at vocational school , or
- at least one year of practical experience in agriculture and forestry and successful completion of at least two levels of an agricultural and forestry vocational school or
- Successful completion of at least three levels of an agricultural and forestry vocational school.
