Our guiding principles

The Higher Federal Teaching and Research Institute for Agriculture Raumberg-Gumpenstein aims to be, in accordance with its legal mandate, an Austria-wide and internationally renowned center for education and research for rural areas.

We, as members of the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, want to ensure that our students receive an education that focuses on securing livelihoods and quality of life, on individual ability to achieve professional success and enjoyment of life, and on the goals of gender mainstreaming.

We want to ensure a high level of innovation and strong personal commitment from all our employees for the benefit of our school children. We aim for continuous and participatory development with the goal of systematically improving the efficiency of our organization.

To meet the demands of society, consumers, and agriculture, there should be ongoing coordination between education and research to ensure that current and relevant curriculum content is always offered. Modern general and specialized knowledge, as well as personal development, should be imparted to our schoolchildren in a performance-oriented yet supportive atmosphere, both at school and in the student residence.

Particular emphasis is placed on innovative problem-solving and international networking. The content of organic farming and biosphere conservation addresses fundamental questions of modern society and is intended to be communicated to our target audience within the context of our location. Through diploma theses, specialized courses, and project studies, students are to be directly introduced to scientific methods.

The school's autonomous focus areas of "Agricultural Marketing" and "Agricultural Management" are intended to enhance the curriculum at the Higher Agricultural College. We place great importance on optimally combining theory and practice in our educational program, culminating in the final examination and diploma.

We are committed to sustainability and see our participation in the Ökolog network and environmental labels as an important contribution to this.
