Skilled craftsmanship and practical
A key component of the training is practical instruction. In modern workshops and training facilities, our students learn to process meat, milk, and fruit; to work with wood and metal; to operate and maintain machinery; and to keep animals in a species-appropriate manner. Another focus of the practical instruction is forestry training, which includes a one-week forestry course. In addition, they gain 22 weeks of practical experience spread over three years on agricultural and forestry businesses – optionally abroad, which fosters language and intercultural skills.
Agricultural management as a key competence – focus on the economy
In the agricultural management specialization, basic agricultural training is expanded to include business administration content: Business management, controlling, human resources management, and risk management are all part of the curriculum, as is the development of a complete business plan or farm concept. This ensures that our graduates are not only outstanding farmers, but also competent entrepreneurs with a forward-looking perspective.
Generalists with specialized knowledge
In addition to agricultural and economic training, we provide a solid foundation in natural sciences, general education, and the languages English and Italian (elective subject) with practical application – including internships in foreign-language European countries and digital skills. The standardized final exams in German, mathematics, and/or English open doors to numerous career fields and university studies.
Learning at the cutting edge of research
Our students benefit from the latest findings in agricultural research – directly from our nationally and internationally recognized research department. Theory and practice are intertwined here: whether in crop production, livestock farming, agricultural technology and digitalization, or organic farming – knowledge is not only imparted, but also experienced.
Vocational training with a future
Our training provides optimal preparation for a life with and in nature – while simultaneously fostering economic responsibility and entrepreneurial thinking. Our graduates actively shape the future of agriculture and the food industry – whether on their own farm, in business management, in the public sector, in consulting, in research, or in international business.

Key topics in the field of agricultural management include:
- Comprehensive agricultural and forestry training (crop production, livestock farming, organic farming, forestry, agricultural technology, practical instruction)
