A look back at Science Day by class 1U

As part of the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, we were able to visit the Gumpenstein research area on June 29, 2022 and experience the Science Day.

Together with Mr. Steiner and Mr. Pelant, we attended two lectures, each in two groups. The first lecture, on "Water Laboratory and Water Parameters," was given by Ms. Martina Schink and Ms. Lisa Egger. There, we learned how to measure the constituents of water and how to monitor its condition over extended periods. Afterwards, we were able to test the conductivity of various bodies of water.

The second presentation, given by Mr. Roland Kitzer, focused on factors and characteristics influencing meat quality. We learned how different types of meat are categorized and how meat color is defined and measured. We also learned how much water meat loses during various cooking methods.
