From Handel's "Music for the Royal Fireworks" of 1749 and Julius Fučík's "Florentine March," a magnificent arc was spanned to modern concert favorites such as "Bohemian Dream," conducted by Peter Schweiger and Helmut Kalss. Both are trained conductors and took turns leading the ensemble.
One highlight was the rousing US march "Stars and Stripes" by John Philipp Sousa, in which our American language assistant Kaylee McCarthy played the trombone.
The enthusiastic audience – pupils, students, parents and relatives as well as teachers – achieved several encores before the choir, led by DI Othmar Breitenbaumer, performed some popular pieces such as yodels or gospels as a transition to the "Tanzlmusi".
