Once again this year we are proud to announce: 31 students from the 4U year group specializing in Environmental and Resource Management (URM) have successfully completed the "certified waste management officer" training!

As part of their lessons in Environmental Management (URM ) and related practical exercises, the young people were intensively prepared for the demands of working in the waste management sector. The training was conducted in accordance with the Waste Management Act (AWG 2002 § 11) and concluded with an examination administered by TÜV Austria Academy.

The participants demonstrated their knowledge in the following key subject areas :

  • Tasks and role of the waste management officer in the company
  • Environmental legal framework (AWG 2002 and regulations)
  • Waste prevention, recycling and disposal
  • Development of waste management concepts
  • Handling of hazardous waste and dangerous goods
  • Reporting and recording obligations
  • Environmental management systems and the EDM portal

This training qualifies our students to act as recognized waste management officers in companies with more than 100 employees – a valuable contribution to environmental protection and sustainable business management.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the supervising teachers Dipl.-Ing. Mattheus Kaltenegger BEd. and Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Ingrid Prieger-Edlinger, who, with their commitment and expertise, have made a significant contribution to the success of this training.

We warmly congratulate our newly qualified waste management officers on passing their exams and receiving their TÜV certificates!
