"Raumberg-Gumpenstein Research & Development" is a corporation public with the aim of carrying out forward-looking, innovative and practically relevant research projects in cooperation with national and international research organizations and companies.

The legal basis for "Raumberg-Gumpenstein Research & Development – an institution with its own legal personality at the Federal Higher Education and Research Institute Raumberg-Gumpenstein" is a decree issued by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (file number
25.510/0002-BS/5/2018).
Organized under private law, RG-R&D is able to implement targeted research projects efficiently and successfully. We prepare independent expert reports, particularly for crisis situations and natural disasters, as well as technical statements and expert opinions. Knowledge transfer is of particular importance in all our projects. Our topics encompass all applied aspects of the following areas:

Climate impact research and climate impact adaptation strategies
Support for disadvantaged regions
Balancing of energy, material and nutrient flows
Reduction of emissions and immissions from livestock farming
Cultural landscape research
Organic farming
Sustainability assessment
Plant and animal biodiversity as well as nature and environmental protection
Species-appropriate animal husbandry, animal health and animal welfare
Quality management, analysis and evaluation of food of animal
origin
Use of technology and electronics in agricultural management:
With equipment of international standard and the professional
expertise of the Higher Federal Teaching and Research Institute Raumberg-
Gumpenstein, as well as the new opportunities of RG-R&D, there are
excellent conditions for research that is both innovative and practical
at the highest standard.
