Organic dairy farming - why?
Ecological and therefore sustainable cattle breeding must be geared towards high lifetime performance and good animal fitness. Healthy cows are essential, especially those that efficiently utilize farm-grown grassland forage (pasture feed, hay, grass silage, etc.) that is not directly usable for humans. Thus, breeding not only influences performance, feeding, animal health, husbandry, animal welfare, product quality, and the profitability of cattle farming, but also has a significant impact on our environment.
The following section of the homepage is aimed at all persons who deal with questions about organic cattle breeding (farmers, consultants, teachers, etc.) and also need bull recommendation lists.
- Bull recommendations for Fleckvieh and Braunvieh cattle according to the Ecological Breeding Value (EBV)
- Bull recommendations for Holstein (black and red), Fleckvieh, etc. from Ökologische Tierzucht GmbH (ÖTZ)
- Bull recommendations of the Austrian Working Group of Lifetime Performance Breeders
- Bull recommendations of the European Association for Natural Cattle Breeding
