Against this backdrop, the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein agricultural research institute developed 30 concrete recommendations for dairy farms, designed to enable or facilitate the implementation of practices promoting sustainability. The recommended measures cover forage production, animal husbandry, manure management , and energy and farm management . All recommendations have been compiled into concise, clearly structured, one-page information sheets. They contain information on implementation, ecological impact, farm management , and further links on the topic.
The plan was developed based on economic feasibility and scientific foundation.
These recommendations provide dairy farms with a tool to better combine ecological and economic management and to actively contribute to achieving company, national and European sustainability goals.
