Innovation meets sustainability – Frutura fruit and vegetables - Podcast 106

Geothermal energy, sustainability and biodiversity – A thought-provoking conversation with Manfred Hohensinner!

Visions require courage, and courage requires action – three farmers from eastern Styria proved just that when they laid the foundation for a successful collaboration in 1999. What began with the modernization of drying facilities has developed into one of Austria's largest producers of fruit, vegetables, and herbs, supplying up to three million people daily. But Frutura stands for more than just fresh food: geothermal energy, sustainability, species conservation, and a focus on the future shape its philosophy.

In this episode of Agrar Science – Knowledge in Brief, Dr. Andreas Steinwidder speaks with CEO Manfred Hohensinner, one of the founders and visionaries of Frutura. In their conversation, Mr. Hohensinner reflects on the challenging and impressive development of the company. He explains why there are no coincidences, but rather that things often "fall into your lap." They discuss innovative sustainability projects like BeeWild, a collaboration with the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein agricultural college. They also look to the future and offer tips specifically for young people on how to lead fulfilling and successful lives.

Listen in and be inspired – by innovation, courage, authenticity and sustainability in action!
