Drought: Minimizing water loss in the field | Andreas Schaumberger #36

Stabilizing yield fluctuations through optimal water use

In many regions, years with normal yields are increasingly alternating with years of losses. This is mostly due to extremely dry conditions caused by higher temperatures and increasingly unevenly distributed rainfall. The existing soil and the maintenance of soil fertility are the basis of all measures (see podcast "It's all about the soil"). Soil drying should be delayed or, ideally, prevented through cultivation practices.

  • Orchards with multiple uses and
