Green roofs in barns - A contribution to climate adaptation, biodiversity promotion and animal welfare
Extensive green roofs are suitable for barn roofs, paddocks, and building roofs on farms, as they do not require any additional structural modifications. They provide cooling on hot days, protect against the cold in winter, and, if properly installed, require minimal maintenance.
In this conversation between PD Dr. Andreas Steinwidder and Dr. Wilhelm Graiss, many topics are addressed, ranging from the structural engineering requirements to the selection and types of green roofs, as well as practical experiences in the installation and tips for the maintenance of extensive barn roof greening.
