ReNaturEnns - Students of the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein research aquatic ecology and river management

Just in time for World Water Day on March 22, 2026, the ReNaturEnns project, in which 35 students from HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein will research the habitats in and around water and the surrounding water areas for a year.

This research experience unique

During an exciting riverraft trip along the Enns River at the end of June, participants will experience firsthand the current human-river-landscape relationships and water protection measures for the preservation and enhancement of biodiversity and habitats, as well as reflect on the connections between nature and culture. The students will present their research findings, and various professionals working on or near water will share their expertise.

over 35 teaching units , which are coordinated by the Research Acquisition Unit through Christoph Gahbauer and Renate Mayer and implemented together with the teachers Verena Mayer and Georg Laserer.

The initiative, as part of the FFG Talents Regional project “River Raft Research” , is supported by the Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure and led by River Collective – Association for Interdisciplinary Cooperation for the Protection of Rivers.
