Successful webinar: Livestock welfare conference Raumberg-Gumpenstein

In mid-May 2020, the traditional farm animal welfare conference took place at the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, which this year, due to current circumstances, was held as a webinar for the first time. Renowned speakers from Germany and abroad offered an interesting program to around 150 online participants.

Current topics in animal welfare and essential technical information for the practical application of animal welfare regulations were presented, and connections between the housing environment, animal health, barn climate, and procedural aspects in livestock farming were highlighted. This year, the conference focused on topics such as digitalization and animal welfare, the complex interplay between digitalization and food marketing, stress-free on-farm slaughter, the protection of sheep in alpine pastures, as well as animal behavior and barn climate aspects in cattle and pig farming.
