Under the direction of Dr. Elfriede OFNER-SCHRÖCK, Dir. Ing. Johann GAISBERGER, Prof. DI . Beate Mayerl and Priv.-Doz. Dr. Andreas STEINWIDDER diverse topics were addressed, highlighting the current challenges and innovations in organic farming. ,
Participants had the opportunity to learn about online teaching materials and to become familiar with a humus balance tool for classroom use , which crop rotation planning and circular economy principles . Practical ideas for teaching organic farming were exchanged, and requirements for organic cheese production as well as marketing strategies discussed.
A particular highlight was the sensory evaluation of cheese, during which participants carried out practical exercises. An excursion provided insights into organic hay milk production without concentrated feed and cow-calf rearing. The evening gathering offered opportunities to network and exchange experiences. In addition, 28 organic farming stations insights into current topics in organic livestock farming. The seminar was aimed at teachers, consultants, and researchers and provided a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of organic agriculture and gain new inspiration for their teaching.
The seminar will take place at the LFS Grottenhof in Graz in June 2025. In addition, regular webinars are planned to support teachers in their biology lessons, providing insights, consultation, and practical experience. These will be HBLFA planned and coordinated by the Biology Institute of the Raumberg-Gumpenstein
