Successful cooperation between LFS Grabnerhof, HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein and the Austrian Center for Bear, Wolf, and Lynx

In October 2022, the newly established course for "Agricultural Specialist with a focus on Alpine Pasture Management and Herding" was successfully held at the LFS Grabnerhof agricultural school. This course covered the topics of livestock protection, animal health, and herd and pasture management.

This forward-looking course was created on the initiative of the Direktorof the LFS Grabnerhof, Mr This email address is protected from spambots! You must enable JavaScript to view it. based on the three-year training as a traditional agricultural specialist at the LFS Grabnerhof.

For the focus on alpine pasture management, herding and mountain farming, the existing training was expanded to include the topics of herd protection, herd and pasture management, animal health, working with dogs and handling farm animals in the least stressful way possible.

The main instructors were Huber Reinhard from HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein and Dr. Albin Blaschka, Managing Director of the Austrian Center for Bear, Wolf, Lynx.

The expanded content was developed and prepared by the speakers. It is based on many years of experience and practice-oriented projects of the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein in the areas of alpine farming and cultural landscape, as well as the expertise and projects of the Austrian Centre for Bear, Wolf, and Lynx.
