The FFG's funding program enables young talents to learn about research and development and gain practical experience in this field. During his four-week internship, our intern worked largely independently on a technical development of SatGrass.
SatGrass is a web application for satellite-based grassland monitoring in Austria. Satellite, weather, and AI models provide up-to-date, field-specific information on yield and forage quality, thus supporting targeted grassland management.
His task was the design and programming of an administrator interface. From the structure and user guidance to the technical implementation, he developed a fully functional solution in a very short time, which will significantly support the administration of SatGrass in the future.
The result impressively demonstrates the added value that student internships can offer both sides: Young people gain the opportunity to apply their knowledge to a real-world research project – and at the same time contribute new ideas, technical know-how, and a great deal of commitment to our development work. Many thanks to Manuel and all the best for his future.
