In light of climate change, biodiversity loss, extreme weather events, and technological upheavals, well-founded, fact-based decisions are essential. The new program therefore sharpens priorities, systematically integrates topics, and places knowledge transfer at its core. Research should not be an end in itself, but rather deliver concrete solutions for practical application, policy, and regional development.
The program is structured around five areas of action – from research in transformation to innovation and artificial intelligence, and on to communication and knowledge transfer. Eight thematic priorities – including climate and material cycles, biodiversity, sustainable livestock systems, cultivated plants, and natural hazards – provide content-related guidance.
The HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein , as a central research-active agency, played a key role in developing the program. At the same time, it will consistently implement the strategic content in its future research priorities, thereby continuing to make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of agriculture, the environment, and regions through its practice-oriented research and the implementation of its findings.
