Students led the representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan through the teaching area and researchers presented the research opportunities and also the good cooperation with practice.
The Republic of Azerbaijan has 10 million inhabitants and is located in the Middle East on the Caspian Sea. The emerging country faces particular challenges in agriculture and food supply. In order to steer development positively and promote self-sufficiency in food through sustainable agriculture, increased investment should be made in education and research.
Austria is regarded internationally as a model country in this regard. At the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein - where teaching works closely with research and there is also a high level of practical relevance - this is clearly illustrated. Over the next few years, the Austrian side will provide appropriate support for the development of agricultural education, research and advisory services in Azerbaijan. Raumberg-Gumpenstein will also contribute its expertise.
