Participation of HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein in the 26th LIFE Platform - exchange of information on environmental and climate protection measures

The 26th LIFE Platform took place from April 23-24 at Rosegg Castle in Carinthia and was organized by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions & Water Management (BMLUK) and the LIFE Northern Bald Ibis Project for the reintroduction of the Northern Bald Ibis.

Two completed LIFE projects from the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein were presented on-site , making a significant contribution to the event. Dr. Wilhelm Graiss presented the results of the VineAdapt project and provided insights into how biodiversity can be promoted through the establishment of flowering strips in viticulture; a measure for adapting to climate change in sustainable viticulture. Dr. Georg Terler, together with his project partner, DI Michael Mandl, presented the measures implemented within the farm4more project and gave an overview of the trials conducted at the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, such as the investigation of the feed value of pressed juice and press cake from the clover-grass silage biorefinery.

The Research Acquisition Unit – represented by Christoph Gahbauer, MSc – was also present to network with the LIFE community and potential cooperation partners. Important information about the current LIFE program, funding procedures, and future funding opportunities was gathered at the event.
