This use case aims to assess the potential of vital parameters for adjusting rations, thereby laying the foundation for optimized ration design on dairy farms and further research in this field. A balanced, performance-adjusted ration is essential for the well-being of dairy cows and has a direct impact on their performance. In addition to the individual animal, the focus is increasingly shifting to the herd as a whole, highlighting optimization potential in farm management. Within this framework, the health and performance of the entire herd should also be ensured through targeted adjustments to the feed ration.
In the current use case, the experimental herd at Hetwin's farm is also equipped with sensors for measuring pH values in the rumen, and the ration is varied over the course of the experiment. Feeding, documentation, and recipe adjustments are handled by a Hetwin ARANOM feeding robot.
The following questions, among others, should be considered as part of the use case:
What impact do defined changes to the feed recipe have on animal health? What direct conclusions can be drawn from sensor data for ration design? What opportunities arise from this for networking automated feeding and health monitoring?
