The investigation focused particularly on the following:
- Work processes,
- the additional working time required due to the use of straw as well as
- the impact on job satisfaction in animal welfare barns of the TW 60 and TW 100 programs.

Farms with automated bedding and manure removal systems report significantly lower working hours. Despite the increased labor requirements, higher job satisfaction and a more positive public perception of animal welfare farming reported, provided it economically viable .
