EU4Shepherds – a training program for shepherds for sustainable land use in Europe

Project objective: HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein is a partner in the Erasmus+ project “EU4Shepherds – Innovative Training for Sustainable Shepherds”. The aim of this project is to develop a Europe-wide harmonized training program for shepherds in cooperation with partner institutions.

Institutions from Spain, Portugal, Romania, Bulgaria, Great Britain, and Germany are participating in the project. The aim is to combine traditional and expert knowledge with the use of new technologies to competently address the numerous challenges facing sheep farming in the 21st century. In addition to a curriculum for this international training program, the project will also develop a handbook for instructors and trainers, as well as a digital training platform.
