The Erasmus+ project SmartStep brings together international partners to develop practical solutions for the sustainable management and improvement of grassland. The project focuses on biodiversity, climate change, modern monitoring methods , and innovative educational programs for agricultural practitioners.
The HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein is contributing its expertise to the project and is working on developing practice-oriented training content as well as an international catalog of important plant species of extensive grassland. Furthermore, an international training program is being organized in Austria, teaching modern methods of grassland monitoring, remote sensing, digitalization , and climate impact analysis .
With the kick-off meeting already held in Turkey and the first technical meeting in Spain, the project collaboration has gotten off to a successful start. We are currently working intensively on the practical training, which will take place at our facilities as part of SmartStep.
