From June 23 to 25, the DLG working group for husbandry and feeding technology in the field of pig farming, for the first time in Austria.

Following a visit to the Schauer company and a tour of an animal welfare-oriented barn for fattening and piglet rearing in Upper Austria, the participants met for the actual conference in Raumberg-Gumpenstein. In addition to a comprehensive program, there was an overview of the research activities of the four institutes and a tour of the research facilities on site.

On the evening of the second day, organizer and department head Eduard Zentner took his colleagues to Lake Plannersee for a refreshing dip. Finally, there was a positive outcome: with colleague and institute director Dr. Birgit Heidinger, there will be an Austrian representative within this DLG working group for the first time.
