Climate-ready for a livable future - BML brochure

Strategies and research projects for climate change adaptation in the areas of agriculture, forestry and water management

Climate change presents major challenges for agriculture, forestry, and water management. The brochure "Climate-Fit for a Livable Future" from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management provides an overview of current research projects.

The focus is on the use of new technologies and methods to improve climate change adaptation in individual sectors and to leverage the opportunities of digitalization. Best-practice examples from various fields provide insight into the extensive research work, including that conducted by our institution.

In this context, we also refer to our recently published brochure "Climate Protection in Agriculture", which presents adaptation options in a compact form in the areas

  • Agriculture / Forage crops
  • Arable/Grassland
  • Grassland / Ruminants
  • Feeding
  • Manure management and
  • Energy/operations management is summarized.

The assigned measures are evaluated with regard to climate protection, cost impact and greenhouse gases affected, and are supplemented with an informative collection of further links .
