Gerhard Salzmann, a certified engineer from the state of Lower Austria, explained the practical application of the flat-rate cost rates. Dieter Kreuzhuber, a certified engineer from the Austrian Association for Agricultural and Forestry Technology (ÖKL) in Vienna, gave a very clear explanation of the changes to selected information sheets for cattle, pigs, horses, sheep, goats, and poultry.
Particular attention had to be paid to the currently valid Ammonia Reduction Ordinance during the planning phase. The same applied to the information sheets for manure removal and manure storage. At the end of the event, the current regulations were discussed using the Gumpenstein stables and manure storage facilities as examples. Overall, it was an interesting and important event with regard to a more uniform interpretation of the regulations.
We would like to thank Alfred Pöllinger-Zierler and his team for organizing and conducting this training course so well.
