the Bio-Institute of the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein has been compiling breeding bull recommendations for organic dairy farms and passing them on to practitioners free of charge.

The ÖTZ bull recommendations can now also be accessed via the homepage.

The non-profit Ökologische Tierzucht GmbH (Organic Animal Breeding Ltd.), which operates in Germany, publishes recommendations for AI bulls for organic dairy farms at the official breeding value estimation dates. The lists contain recommendations for currently available AI bulls that primarily stand out due to their reliable transmission of above-average longevity. Further criteria are breed-specific and are explained in detail on their website.

Up-to - date lists are currently being compiled for the Holstein Friesian, Holstein Red Friesian, and Simmental breeds ( according to the Austrian Breeding Value). Further lists, e.g., for Brown Swiss and German Black Pied Lowland cattle, will be added in the future. In addition, work is underway on alternative recommendation lists, for example, for farms that increasingly rely on Triple-A breeding.
