Electric Fence Action Day - Electric fence instead of barbed wire

On March 8, 2024, the Electric Fence Action Day will take place at the LFS Kobenz together with the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein.

Pasture fences serve several purposes. They guarantee the safety of grazing animals, and with the return of large predators, they also provide protection against wolves and other predators. The fence should also be aesthetically pleasing. Depending on the animal species being contained, there are various types of fences or fencing systems available. While barbed wire was once ubiquitous, electric fences are now the modern solution. Permanent fencing systems are suitable for enclosing permanent pastures or demarcating fields; if a pasture is only used for short periods, a mobile system is preferable. Pastures near farmyards can usually be supplied with electricity by an energizer. Technical options for monitoring the current at the fence and for animal tracking are presented.

You can find out everything you need to know at our event day on March 8, 2024 at the LFS Kobenz.

It is also possible to purchase fencing materials from the manufacturers present at promotional prices.
