Hoof health in cattle has been a widely discussed topic for years. It makes a significant contribution to the animals' quality of life and also has a positive impact on their performance . Since qualified training opportunities in hoof care are very limited in Europe, the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, in cooperation with European Hoofcare, has been offering a Europe-wide recognized diploma course .
The course to become an instructor in functional hoof care is classified at the level of the Austrian Matura (Level V) in the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). This format and educational level make this course unique in Europe.
The content of the diploma course includes both theoretical and practical focus areas in the fields of hoof care, animal husbandry and animal health, communication, pedagogy and presentation techniques.
