HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein - Bundled research expertise with impact
The research groups pool expertise from various disciplines, network with ongoing HBLFAprojects, and strategically expand our core competencies. They serve as a platform for cooperation, innovation, and communication. This results in scientifically sound, practice-oriented findings that benefit agriculture, the environment, and society alike.
The research groups' topics are:
- Eco -efficiency , which we use to analyze agricultural production systems along the entire value chain – based on ecological and economic indicators.
- The biodiversity and renaturation that we secure and promote through innovative methods – such as peatland renaturation, gene banks, preservation of rare livestock breeds and invasive species management.
- Climate protection and climate change adaptation to make agriculture future-proof by enabling farms to actively contribute to climate protection with practical measures and improving their adaptability to the changes.
- Digitalization new technologies for smart, resource-efficient agriculture into practice – from sensors and data management to sustainability assessments.
- Livestock feeding , where quality, efficiency, animal health and environmental aspects are combined – for economically viable, site-adapted and sustainable feeding systems.
- Emissions and immissions research , which develops targeted measures to reduce environmental pollution – with sound data, recognized testing procedures and concrete recommendations for barn construction and feeding.
- Alpine farming , whose complex interrelationships we are researching under extreme conditions – with the aim of deepening and practically implementing knowledge about use, yield, ecology and climate adaptation on alpine pastures.
These interdisciplinary research groups create the foundation for
- coordinated research ,
- targeted resource pooling and
- strong partnerships with companies, authorities, research groups, educational institutions and our farmers.
Our goals are clear: to jointly develop innovations, spread knowledge and actively shape the agriculture of the future.
