Seedmix The morning session focused on future requirements for grassland species and varieties, breeding progress, and the changing framework for grassland farming in the Alpine region. Presentations from research institutions in Austria, Bavaria, South Tyrol, and Switzerland provided insights into current developments and new testing approaches in variety development.

Program of the Expert Forum 2025

In the second part of the event, the key site-specific results from the Austria-wide grassland mixture trial ( Seedmix project ) were presented. The focus was on practical insights into the performance of different mixtures under varying site conditions.

The afternoon session focused on a comprehensive overview of the yield, quality, and vegetation dynamics of the tested mixtures. A concluding general discussion provided an opportunity for exchange and the contextualization of the results with regard to future challenges in grassland management.
