AgroMet-Monitor project: Spatiotemporal monitoring of agrometeorological parameters for Austria

The AgroMet-Monitor project combines various research approaches on the topic of climate and climate change and their relevance to agriculture. In four sub-areas, changes in yields, particularly in grassland, vegetation period, and water supply for agricultural land were calculated based on long-term weather data and climate scenarios.

The results include time series spanning several decades describing the growing season (start, end, and duration), soil moisture conditions, the occurrence of droughts, and grassland yields. The maps provided show regions at risk for future negative developments in climatic site conditions and can be used for strategic decisions and the development of regional adaptation strategies in agriculture.
