Fecal evaluation for practical, rapid ration control on livestock farms and resulting interpretation possibilities of digestive processes

The goal of optimal digestion is to minimize losses during the conversion process from food to absorbable nutrients. This is influenced by the composition of the diet.

Providing a ruminant-appropriate ration, with energy and nutrient supply tailored to their needs, can help minimize losses and thus contribute to increased efficiency. However, assessing this in practice is often difficult. This research project aims to develop a practical method for ration control directly on farms. Collaboration with feed advisors in the German federal states ensures a direct transfer of knowledge between research and practice. Furthermore, the results will be disseminated through conferences, reports, field trips, and training courses,
making them accessible to practitioners.
