A glance at the program, featuring 42 presentations and over 200 posters, reveals that ecosystem services, biodiversity, carbonfootprint, and competition between feed and food crops were key themes of this conference. Naturally, there were also exciting insights into maintaining quality and productivity in grassland, technological innovations, and animal welfare. Stephan Pabst had the opportunity to present the "Added Value of Mountain Agriculture" project, showcase initial findings in a poster, and discuss them with colleagues from Germany, Switzerland, and other European countries.
In summary, ecosystem services, biodiversity and feed conversion efficiency play a major role in determining the value of grassland across Europe.
