Creation of a handbook for eco-efficiency and eco-efficient management using FarmLife key performance indicators: FarmLife KEY

A new project in the FarmLife area will focus on creating a "Handbook for Eco-efficiency and Eco-efficient Management with FarmLife Key Performance Indicators" starting in early 2025.

The FarmLife farm management and life cycle assessment tool has been used on farms and, in some cases, in agricultural schools for many years. However, an easily understandable manual that could also serve as a daily reference guide has not yet been available. Such a manual would be of great value to teachers, advisors, and farms themselves in interpreting farm results and implementing the resulting recommendations for action.

The aim of the new project is therefore to describe the operational key performance indicators and environmental impacts determined using the FarmLife management tool in a way that is applicable for consultants, teachers, and decision-makers on farms, and to relate them to the respective management areas. Users from these fields should thus be enabled to interpret the operational results using the planned handbook and to draw the right conclusions, thereby supporting operational decisions for future farm management.

The planned handbook will be developed in cooperation with the experts at HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein and is expected to be available from the beginning of 2028 as a basis for advice, teaching and agricultural businesses alike.
